Who we are?

World Vision is a development organization of Christians that strives to promote the well-being of all, especially of children. In Costa Rica, World Vision has been working for almost 20 years in the Chorotega and Norhern Huetar regions, promoting SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION DEVELOPMENT, hand in hand with the communities.

What we do?

We foster respect for the rights of children, adolescents and women through the program of Promotion of Justice. We generate sources of employment and of agricultural funding in rural rares through the progam Economic Development.

We work in the area of emergency prevention and prepositioning of a rapid response, in addition to offering rehabilitation to victims trough the program of Prevention, Emergency and Rehabilitation. Through the progam of Christian Witness we work in bringing the Good News of the Kingdom of God to all communities.

We build infrastructure such classrooms, roads, aqueducts and bridges in order to foster community development. Community Health is enhanced by bringing medical services closer to the communities. Community Leadership is developed in order to foster communty growtth.

We are an instrument to channel resources from other non-governmental organizations and of the Government in the order to build a better quality of life together with the communities.

Your donation

In order to make Sustainable Transformational Development a reality, support from every one is necessary. It is necessary to involve the State, the civil society, the private sector and all social skateholders that can and must make and effort for Costa Rica to become a better place to live -for the present generation and the future ones-. World Vision is a vehicle to make this objective a reality in more than 164 communities, as it accompanies their work day by day, seeking better opportunities for children and their families.

During this year it became possible to invest 37% of the total budget in child development. This involves children's organizations, promotion of justice through the rights of children, education, culture, human formation and, of course, recreation.

The second most important item where World Vision invested its resources was agricultural strategy and economic and social development. The following major areas were strengthened: grassroots organizations, technical assistance to production prcesses, the environment, and generation of job resources.
